Start construction of Elements residential tower on the Amstel
In the presence of alderman Reinier van Dantzig, the official start signal for the construction of Elements was given last Thursday. Developed by KondorWessels Vastgoed (part of VolkerWessels), this parametric residential tower will occupy a beautiful location on the river Amstel in Amsterdam. The 70-metre-high building will soon provide space for 70 owner-occupied and 70 mid-rent homes and will have various communal areas such as a swimming pool and roof gardens.
Silvie Bruijning and Marijn Verheij of KondorWessels Vastgoed, alderman Reinier van Dantzig of the municipality of Amsterdam, Frank Aalders of Kondor Wessels Amsterdam and Patrick Koschuch of Koschuch Architects symbolically joined forces to give the go-ahead for construction in the presence of all parties involved.
The phased sales of the condominiums have started. Currently, only a few homes are still available. The rental homes and commercial spaces have been sold to Verenigd Beheer.
Award-winning design
Koschuch Architects' international award-winning design was partly determined by the wind and the position of the sun in combination with the surroundings. This created the perfect shape (parametric) and creates the optimal living comfort in both summer and winter. Elements is being built by Kondor Wessels Amsterdam (part of VolkerWessels).
Luxury
Residents can make use of the many luxury extras that will have a place in Elements, such as an indoor swimming pool overlooking the Amstel river, a communal living room, a bar, commercial facilities on the ground floor and green wooded roof gardens.
CO2 reduction as a starting point
With solar panels on the roof and integrated into the balcony edges, the total energy requirements of the building itself will be sustainably generated. Elements is designed to capture energy when it is needed. In addition, the use of wood in the hybrid construction allows CO2 to be stored rather than blown into the air, resulting in a 50% CO2 reduction.
