This is also VolkerWessels vlog #34: VolkerWessels Cycling Team

In the last weekend of June, the VAM mountain in Drenthe was the beating heart of Dutch cycling. At the 2022 National Cycling Championships, the 'Col du VAM' had to be climbed no less than 13 times, over a total distance of 194.5 kilometers. The VolkerWessels Cycling Team was well represented in both the Under-23 category and the Elites. A perfect opportunity to follow the team closely in our vlog.

While the Elite team was still having breakfast in the morning, the Under 23s were already racing in the rain. The VWCT immediately created fireworks by making Max Kroonen the first rider to cross the finish line. Max thus became the Dutch Under-23 Champion and will ride in the red-white-and-blue shirt next year.

The Elite team's standards were high and they rode hard to be in the breakaways. From the hotel, the team bus, the support car and along the course, we follow the team's activities from close by in this vlog. As the sun came out and the temperature rose, the Elite riders prepared for an exciting final. VWCT rider Bart Lemmen completed the success of the NK by finishing in a very good fourth place.
