Erjan Sprakel, director of VWLD

“The constructive co-operation between the teams of Danone, Business Parc ‘Laarakker’ and ourselves led to this deal regarding this perfectly located distribution centre in Cuijk. We are very pleased that we were able to meet the demands of the local community and Danone, securing employment for the region in combination with a sustainable centre near the factory of Danone.”

The centre is perfectly located in the Business Park ‘Laarakker’, with direct access to all main roads in the region (A15, A50, A67, A2 and A12) via the A73 motorway. Business Parc ‘Laarakker’ is situated in AgriFood Capital, a partnership of entrepreneurs, governments and educational institutions in the northeast Brabant region. Within AgriFood Capital, parties work together on innovative solutions to social issues around sustainability, nutrition and health. The centre inspected to create employment for approximately one hundred employees in the Cuijk region.

Systabo, also a VolkerWessels company, will construct the building which will have a BREEAM Very Good sustainability rating. In addition it will be an all-electric distribution centre helping Danone to reach a carbon neutral operation at this location in the coming years.

VWLD was advised by Sight Law and Danone was advised by StraatmanKoster advocaten and Cushman & Wakefield on this deal.
