Sonate Spuikwartier sells 456 newly built apartments in the centre of The Hague to SPF Beheer and MN

Development combination Sonate Spuikwartier (joint venture between VolkerWessels, Reggeborgh Vastgoed and Delta Development) has sold the first two residential towers, Adagio and Bolero, of the new Sonate project in the centre of The Hague to SPF Beheer and MN. The towers consist of 456 rental apartments and approximately 1,500 m2 of commercial space and are part of the development of the Spuikwartier.

Adagio

MN has acquired the Adagio residential tower on behalf of its client Pensioenfonds Metaal & Techniek (PMT). Adagio was designed by MVSA Architects and forms an important link between the adjacent educational and cultural complex Amare, the Wijnhavenkwartier and the Turfmarkt. At 90 metres, Adagio is the highest point of the development.

Boele & van Eesteren

Boele & van Eesteren (part of VolkerWessels) has already started the construction of both towers. Bolero is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2022 and Adagio in the first quarter of 2024. All apartments will be offered in the rental segment. In this way, this project not only makes an important contribution to the expansion of The Hague's total rental housing stock, but also to the city's skyline.

Spuikwartier

The Spuikwartier is currently under development. In cooperation with the municipality, the area is being transformed into a vibrant area where living, working, higher education and culture come together. The renovated Spuiplein is to serve as an open air stage and as a place to meet each other. In 2021, the educational and cultural complex Amare will accommodate the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Royal Conservatoire. The Spuikwartier will be a lively area that is part of the Haagse Loper, which connects the Theresiastraat with the Spui. Eventually three towers will rise on the Spuikwartier, Adagio and Bolero in the first phase. After the demolition of the current Nederlands Dans Theater, Cantate, the third tower, will be built on that spot.
