Construction of BinnenDok project at NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam started

BMB ontwikkeling (part of VolkerWessels) and Reggeborgh Vastgoed have started the construction of the multifunctional project BinnenDok at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam in mid-March 2021. BinnenDok consists of 107 flats, an office building, commercial (plinth) facilities, a roof garden and a parking building with 525 parking spaces.

The plan will be realised in the heart of the NDSM Wharf. The architecture of BinnenDok is inspired by the sturdy and industrial character of the NDSM, once one of the largest shipyards in the world. The building was designed by Messrs. 5 architects from Amsterdam. Kondor Wessels Amsterdam (also part of VolkerWessels) is responsible for the construction of the flats, the office building and the commercial plinth facilities. Continental Car Parks is responsible for the realisation of the parking building, which will function as a public parking garage for the area.

For residents and the neighbourhood

The building ensemble is oriented towards the IJ, so that the flats higher up have an unobstructed view of the water. Commercial facilities will be located on the ground floor. There are parking facilities for residents of the complex in the adjoining public car park.

Most of the flats have been sold. Information about the flats that are still available can be found at www.levenopndsm.nl/binnendok. The public parking garage (525 parking spaces) - with commercial spaces underneath - has been sold to Catella Parken Europa, represented by Orange Investment Managers. The project will be completed in the course of 2023.

New multifunctional urban district

BMB ontwikkeling, Reggeborgh Vastgoed and the municipality of Amsterdam are working closely together (also with other parties in the area) to turn NDSM Wharf into a beautiful neighbourhood where it is nice to live, work and relax. Until 2030, the total programme will be extended to include approximately 5,000 rental and owner-occupied dwellings, leisure and cultural functions, (small) offices, shops and parking facilities. The NDSM Wharf is part of the Northern IJ-oevers West. The area will contribute greatly to the supply of new housing in the years to come, providing living space for Amsterdam's growing population.
